No disruption to flight schedule due to eruption

A new volcanic eruption in the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland began on the morning of February 8, 2024 and was declared over on February 10. This marked the sixth eruption in the area in 3 years. The eruption did not disrupt any flights to or from Iceland.

Even though the eruption is no longer active, road closures are in effect around the eruption site and travelers are advised to stay away from the surrounding area.

Safety is always our top priority and the situation in the Reykjanes peninsula is monitored closely by the relevant authorities.
