PLAY Launches Direct Flights Between Iceland and Agadir
PLAY has launched ticket sales for scheduled flights between Iceland and the Moroccan city of Agadir. The first flight departs on December 19, with weekly service every Friday through mid-April 2026. PLAY will also operate scheduled flights between Iceland and Marrakesh next winter.
The flight to Agadir takes around five and a half hours. Located on the Atlantic coast, the city enjoys a climate similar to Tenerife, with an average of 300 sunny days per year. Agadir is known for its golden beaches, world-class golf courses, and its modern, welcoming vibe. In recent years, the city has undergone significant redevelopment focused on creating a relaxed, enjoyable experience for both locals and visitors.
With Agadir and Marrakesh added to the network, PLAY now offers 16 leisure destinations from Iceland — including eight in Spain, four in Portugal, as well as Split in Croatia and Antalya in Turkey.
“Our goal at PLAY is to offer Icelanders an exciting selection of sunny destinations, and Agadir won’t disappoint,” says Einar Örn Ólafsson, CEO of PLAY. “Whether you're looking to unwind on golden beaches or tee off on world-class golf courses, Agadir is a fantastic choice. Our schedule covers Christmas, Easter, and the winter in between, and I’m confident many will take advantage of this opportunity to explore such a vibrant city.”
