PLAY hires Rakel Eva Sævarsdóttir as Director of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility

PLAY has hired Rakel Eva Sævarsdóttir as a Director of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Rakel Eva will implement PLAY’s sustainability and CSR strategies, defining the company’s goals related to environmental issues, governance, and operation. Rakel Eva will be joining PLAY in early November.

Rakel Eva joins PLAY after having worked with the renowned multi-national food processing company Marel where she focused on sustainability with main responsibilities within the fish industry. Prior to that she was a manager at Deloitte Iceland where she was involved in building a new service line within Sustainability consulting. Rakel Eva was also one of the founders of Fortuna Invest, an initiative on Instagram intended to increase diversity in the financial markets, specifically through greater participation of women, by providing information on investment through innovative methods.

Rakel Eva will apply her vision and experience to further develop PLAY’s sustainability policy.

Rakel Eva holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Innovation and Business Development from the University of Iceland.

PLAY will lead by example in sustainability and CSR
