PLAY to Marrakech

Blue sky, palm trees and a small tower in marrakech

PLAY airlines has launched ticket sales for flights from Marrakech in Morocco to Iceland. The first flight from Marrakech will be on October 17 and PLAY will operate flights up to twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

PLAY is a low cost airline from Iceland and operates flights between North America and Europe with Iceland as a hub in the middle. PLAY offers passengers the option to prolong their layover into a multi-day stopover for no additional cost for those who want to visit Iceland before continuing their trip across the Atlantic. PLAY´s destinations in North America are Baltimore, Boston, New York and Washington DC in the United States and Toronto in Canada. In Iceland, visitors have the chance to experience natural wonders such as waterfalls, glaciers, geysers and extraordinary wildlife just a few hours from Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, which is rich with culture, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.

In June 2021, PLAY had its first flight and today it operates a fleet of 10 Airbus A320/321neo aircraft. The average age of PLAY's aircraft is just over 2 years, making our passengers’ journey comfortable, safe and reliable. PLAY has a solid track record of an impressive 83% on-time performance in 2023.

PLAY´s cabin crew was voted the best crew by the readers of USA Today last year. It was also voted the best low-cost airline in Northern Europe.

PLAY’s mission is to offer competitive prices in all its markets. At PLAY, passengers will spend less on their flight and can spend more at their destination. Or as we say at PLAY: Pay less - PLAY more.

„We are thrilled to be launching flights from Marrakech through our partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office. This is a magical city that is rich with history and culture. Everywhere we go, we give the competition a run for their money. We want to make travel more affordable and I am sure our Marrakech services will be well received by people who want to visit our beautiful country of Iceland,“ says Birgir Jónsson, PLAY´s CEO.
