Increased Seismic Activity on the Reykjanes Peninsula

Over the past few weeks, there has been a localized seismic event on the Reykjanes Peninsula. This does not affect PLAY's flight schedule. There is not an ongoing eruption in Iceland, and if this seismic event leads to an eruption, it is unlikely that flights will be affected.

There have been three eruptions in the past two years in the area, and none of them have affected flights.

This is a localized event that does not affect the rest of the country, so the rest of Iceland is safe. The area in question is near the town of Grindavík, which is populated by around 4,000 people, all of whom have been evacuated.

The event is monitored closely by Icelandic authorities, PLAY is informed minute-by-minute about the situation and is fully prepared for any event. As mentioned before, the activity is unlikely to affect flights.
